Forest Park Elementary Yearbooks

 

Pre-orders are now starting for this year's 20120 YEARBOOK!  Yearbooks will be ready in the spring and will cost $18.50 per book.  An order form will be sent home in your child's backpack on February 1st.  Please return your name, number of yearbooks you would like to purchase and a check made out to Forest Park Elementary in your child's backpack for your teacher to collect.  You may also return your pre-order to the front office.  You will not be able to purchase a book later, all books must be pre-ordered now.  Questions?  Contact Leslie Rosenberg at leslierosenberg1@me.com.

Claire Abraham set up a Red Cross donation station for the people of Haiti on Thursday night during the PTA Magic Show.  Thanks to donations she received, Claire will be making a $500 dollar donation.  From Claire to all who donated, THANK YOU!

Lay-Ups begins Thursday, January 28th

Lay-ups, a co-ed basketball league specifically for kindergarten and 1st grade students, begins Thursday, January 28th from 6:00pm-8:30pm in the Forest Park Gym.  The league is designed to help students get familiar with the game of basketball while creating a fun and successful environment (baskets are 8' high and kids will play with size "3" basketballs).  T-shirts and basketballs will be provided to each player.  To register, go to www.lay-ups.com.  Be sure to select "Forest Park" as the location preference.

Applications to Alternative or Private Schools

If you are applying to an alternative or a private school for next year chances are you are either in the middle of that application process or you are beginning it.  Most school applications ask for teacher recommendations.  Please remember that the office and our teachers receive many applications each year and each recommendation does take time. For the consideration of that time please:

1) Give teachers and the office a minimum of two weeks to complete the recommendation or paper work.

2) Please provide a self-addressed, stamped envelope for each form.  Letters of recommendation are confidential and should be mailed from the school to the school directly.

Please remember we receive many applications each year.  Each is extremely important! We are more than happy to write the letters and to complete the paper work, but please give us enough time to honor your child and the process.  Thank you.

Don't Miss It - 1st through 5th Grade Fencing

Registration Is Now Open - Lincoln Youth Lacrosse

Even if you have never played, those interested are encouraged to sign up for Lincoln Youth Lacrosse, a development based organization with players of all abilities.  Recreation teams are mixed with more experienced players and new kids.  Those players with more advanced skills will have the opportunity to play additional time within a more competitive regional environment.

To register, go to www.lincolnlax.org and click the registration button on the left. Lincoln Youth Lacrosse is open to all 3rd-8th grade boys that go to school or live in the Lincoln High School service area.
