Community News
Future East/West Sylvan Middle School runners and/or running enthusiasts and/or people who like to help out in their community…
There will be a cross country state meet in Portland, Saturday, Oct 31st. A Super Champs and Champs race for both boys and girls (similar format to Varsity and Junior Varsity) will be held for both boys and girls 6th grade to 8th grade combined. This meet will be open to teams from public schools, private schools, clubs as well as individuals. We estimate 200-250 per race so up to about 1,000 of youth runners in the state!
With this many runners, we need volunteers to help out the day of the meet!
Here are the details:
Date: Saturday, October 31st
Time: 7am - 2pm (races start at 9am and should rap up by noon)
Location: Fernhill Park
If you can volunteer, please contact Helene Hutchinson via email at helene.hutchinson@nike.com or call her at 503-671-6040. Volunteers will be assigned to different areas so not everyone needs to be committed to the full time noted above.
