Don't forget! Forest Park's last day of school is Thursday, June 11th!!
It can be confusing with middle and high school's last day of the year being Wednesday, June 10th but Forest Park's last day is Thursday, June 11th!! Remember we added a day to the school year to make up for one of the two instructional days lost during the water main break in February. With middle and high school students out of class on Thursday, we recognize that there may be a desire for past students to come to Forest Park and visit. However that day will be very busy for our teachers, staff, and children and we ask that parents only make the end of the year visits. Thank you for understanding.
The Lost and Found has been set up on tables along the display case wall. Please have your child look for that missing shirt, jacket, lunch box. Items left behind will be donated to the PTA clothes closet.
Afghanistan School Supply Project Good fun for a good cause...our children! Thank You Volunteers!! Brownie troop 41081 is collecting used school supplies (notebooks, pencils, pens, rulers, etc.) to restock Afghanistan schools that have been disrupted by the war. Drop off sites will be in classrooms, the hallway and carpool lines the last 2 days of school. Clean out your desks, and support the Brownie’s service project. Questions?: Ann Stout tatastout@aol.com
Thanks to all who helped make this year's carnival a splashing good time. Hits of the evening included the dunk tank and the 5th grade obstacle course.
On Monday teachers and staff served up more than 300 ice cream
sundaes. A small thank you to hundreds of parent volunteers. Each
year parent and community volunteers donate thousands of hours to the
classroom, the PTA, and after school programs! We can not begin to
thank you enough for you time and dedication. Your focus on the
children of Forest Park is priceless! Thank you!
A note from Kim Camara regarding cafeteria account balances
Parents, if your child eats hot lunch, please take a minute to check your child's lunch account balance, and assure it is in good standing. Stop by and see me in the cafeteria, or send me an email at ns152@pps.k12.or.us before the end of the year. All accounts must be balanced and in the positive prior to the end of the school year. Is your child moving onto middle school? Remember, unlike elementary schools, middle schools do not give credit allowing student balances to go into the negative. To add money to your child's account or set one up for middle school, go to MYLUNCHMONEY.COM. You will need your child`s I.D # to start an account. Contact me @ (503) 916-5400 for that information. Thank you so much!! Have a wonderful summer and I'll see you in September.
