Finding Balance

Today the fabulous second graders in P3 where learning physics!  We have started our unit called:  Balance and Motion.  The challenge presented today was how to balance a pencil on its tip using an aluminum wire and some clothes pins.  It was tremendous fun to watch them solve this problem together and we had some amazing solutions.  (They were very focused for almost an hour on the problem and they all persevered!) Don't be surprised if you have some physics experiments happening around your house! 

Springtime!

The year has gone by so quickly!  Springtime is here and with it come springtime things, like....

1. Run for the Arts!  Your second grader will be bringing home their Run for the Arts for on Friday.  I will go over everything with the students in class.  The information about how it works is written on form, but if you have any questions, please feel free to email me and I will do my best to answer your questions.
