Hello from your 2010 Auction Chair,
My name is Laura Croll and I am excited for the task at hand. I accepted the position of Auction Chair for two reasons. I want to meet my community, and I want to give back to the school I am so very proud of. Our family has benefited greatly from being a part of the Forest Park Elementary School community. The level of commitment by the teachers, staff, and parents exceeds anything I have ever experienced. I have six children, one cat, and a thriving Real Estate business. I am truly blessed, and love every moment of every day. Even the days that offer laundry piled up to the ceiling, homework questions by the galore, and dinners yet to be made.
As I thought about the theme for this year's auction, I could not help but think about what a rough year it has been for all. We have watched as our country struggles with a housing crises, a credit crises, and losses of jobs. With all this in mind, I wanted to offer an evening of fun. An evening where we could celebrate the wonderful things we do have. An enthusiastic and involved community, a modern and well equipped school, and caring and engaged teachers and staff.
The Foundation at Forest Park Elementary School is responsible in ensuring that Forest Park can hire and keep our spectacular teachers. This is how your Auction Dollars are spent. I mention this because, until I took on the responsibility of Auction Chair, I did not know this. I did not know that the hard work of Auction's past were so important. I do now. My hope is that each and every parent will realize that the support of the Auction is important, and makes a difference.
What is my theme for the evening? I will give you a "Clue."... Did you miss it? Hum, it's a "Mystery" to me.
Check back for my "Clue's" as to what our 2010 Auction theme will be.
I look forward in meeting each and every parent at Forest Park. May it be at the Auction.
Laura
